Grand Fir or Giant Fir (Abies grandis)
If you’re looking for an exceptionally fragrant and uniquely beautiful Christmas tree, the Grand fir is the tree to choose. Carefully pruned they will grow into a thick-foliaged tree with branches that appear to be flat because the needles are horizontally spread on either side of the branch. The tops of the needles are dark green, but the undersides are silvery.
Grand fir handle and ship well. They withstand colder climates. Grand fir do not hold their needles as well as other species, but they will look and smell wonderful with proper care.
